Ok for my first submission, here is an attempt to recreate a decent hyperspace effect :)

"Protocols for hyperspace jumps calls for the complete and absolute isolation of ship environment from exterior during transit. The said protocols were established due to previous failures to establish contact and observation, most notably in response to the loss of the SFS Kobi science vessel 50 years previously, with all hands on board, an incident that is still shrouded with mystery.

What was determined was that following decades of observation and experimentation, the research team aboard the science vessel claimed to have achieved a successful breakthrough concerning their investigation of Hyperspace. A few hours after the announcement, all contact with the vessel was suddenly lost while the vessel was in transit through hyperspace.

When it reappeared in Vega space, one week later, a rescue team was sent. It was then discovered most of the crew of two thousand humans, including researchers and support staff had, for some unexplained reason, killed and mutilated each other in a brutal frenzy, with most bodies so brutalized they could not be identified other than through genetic testing.

Audio and visual logs that was recovered later confirmed the crew had apparently suffered mass hysteria and psychotic breakdown at some point during transit, simultaneously, though the moment which it occurred was not recorded due to unusual corruption of the vessel's computer core. The rest of the memory core remained unreadable save for snippets of scenes showing the slaughter.

The bridge crew was discovered to be alive, but was euthanize quickly shortly afterwards due to reasons that remained highly classified to this day, though the rescue team were reported to be severely psychologically traumatized by what they saw in the bridge.

The research vessel was subsequently scuttled, the dismantled pieces disposed into the local star. The cause of the incident remained undetermined. It had been noted that unusual hyperspace energies, yet to be fully explained by science, saturated the hull of the vessel long after transit, despite the fact the quantum-waveform shielding protecting the ship in hyperspace was functioning normally.

Any form of observation contact with outside the ship during hyperspace transit had been strictly forbidden since."
